Raipur: It has been eight months since the Sub-Inspector (SI) examination was conducted in Chhattisgarh, but the candidates are still waiting for the results. Such rains established fury among the discontented candidates who, on Sunday, paid a visit to the Residence of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma. The students insisted that the government should increase physical interviews to recruit for the SI exam as ordered by the court.
The candidates also emphasized that although Deputy CM Vijay Sharma affirmed to the candidates that the department is being very proactive in addressing the issue. He stated that the department will fully respect and implement all the orders of the High Court as they concern the SI recruitment exam results.
Recently, the High Court directed the government to recall 370 male aspirants as a replacement for the 370 female aspirants for the second round of tests for the SI-Platoon Commander post. The court ordered these to be conducted within 45 days, while the overall selection process should be initiated within 90 days of the letter.
Deputy CM Sharma had to confess that he had been very busy lately because of election requirements but he undertook to attend to the complaint himself once elections are out of the way. He admitted that over one thousand three hundred candidates across the state have yet to receive their results for the past eight months. Sharma went on record to indicate that new directions have already been provided to ensure the delivery of the present orders. Implementing this order will entail extending an invitation to join the service to 370 individuals as directed by the High Court.
The newly announced recruitment process has also precipitated much stress and set many expectations among candidates. Teachers and students alike will breathe a sigh of relief when the examinations are over, knowing fully well that the next time they sit for their exams, there will be a definite time for it. While the court has interceded slightly to restore options, the candidates have expressed desire and anticipation for efficient results to end the long haul.
