Chhattisgarh: At least seven people have been missing for two days in Chhattisgarh . It is reported that the seven people were attending a social gathering in Chhattisgarh’s Maoist insurgency-hit Sukma district. Meanwhile, Narayanpur witnessed Naxal attack in which two soldiers were martyred.
Sukma Police suspect involvement of Maoists. Sukma Police Superintendent, Sunil Sharma said,”four people, including the village head who has gone to talk to the Maoists for the release of the villagers have not returned.” He also said that no FIR has been filed in any of the police stations.
Inspector general of Bastar range, Sunderaj P said that “the villagers from Kunded under Jagargonda police station limits went to a nearby village to attend a social gathering a couple of days back, but are yet to return home”. He added that the police are trying to verify the information about a few of them being taken captive by the Maoists.
Meanwhile, Narayanpur witnessed another Naxal attack. It is reported that there has been an encounter between armed personnel engaged in the security of Narayanpur MLA Chandan Kumar Kashyap (ROP-Road Opening Party). ASP Neeraj Chandrakar confirmed about the attack and reported loss of two armed personnel. One of the martyrs is identified as Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Shiv Kumar, a resident of Rajasthan.
