Dantewada. Security forces have again achieved a big success today. In Dantewada, DRG and Bastar Fighters killed Gummadiveli Renuka alias Bhanu alias Chaite alias Saraswati alias Damyanti, a woman Naxalite with a bounty of Rs 45 lakh, in an encounter. The Chhattisgarh government had announced a bounty of Rs 25 lakh on Renuka and the Telangana government had announced a bounty of Rs 20 lakh. She was the Central Regional Bureau (CRB) press team in charge of the banned Naxalite organization CPI (Maoist) and the editor of Prabhat magazine.
An encounter took place between the police and Naxalites in the forests of Nelgoda, Ikeli and Belnar villages on the border of Dantewada and Bijapur districts today. Female Naxalite Gummadiveli Renuka was killed in the encounter. The soldiers have recovered an INSAS rifle, magazine and ammunition, laptop, Naxalite literature, explosive material and other items of daily use from the spot.

- In 2005, she married CCM Shankamuri Apparao alias Ravi, who was killed in the Nallamalla encounter in Andhra Pradesh in 2010. Renuka was associated with the publication of Naxalite magazines Prabhat, Mahila Margam, Awami Jung, People’s March etc.
More than 100 hardcore Naxalites have been killed so far this year
According to Inspector General of Police Bastar Range Sundarraj, as per the government’s intention, all the members of the security forces including DRG/STF/Bastar Fighters/CoBRA/CRPF/BSF/ITBP/CAF deployed in Bastar Range are working dedicatedly for the peace, security and development of Bastar region with strong morale and clear goals. In 2025, the security forces under Bastar Division effectively conducted anti-Maoist operations against the banned and illegal CPI Maoist organization. As a result, more than 100 hardcore Naxalites have been killed in three months this year.
