Dantewada: With full force, anti-Naxal operation goes on in Chhattisgarh. The Maoists are being relentlessly taken on by security forces and wiped out one by one. In a latest development, security forces were conducting an anti-Naxal operation on the border of Dantewada and Bijapur districts, where a fierce encounter broke out on Tuesday early morning. Reports said the security personnel and the Naxals fired each other around 8 a.m. on March 25, and exchanges continued over hours.

Two members of the Naxalites were neutralised by the security forces during the encounter. A large amount of Maoist material like weapons, ammunition and other materials were recovered from the encounter site after the gunfight. The returned items include sophisticated weapons, explosives and daily need items used by the Maoists in their camps, implying a good number of Naxals in the area.

Security forces are still searching densely forested borders of the Dantewada and Bijapur after launching one that is still underway. All of this was cordoned off, and extra reinforcements were bourne in to make sure that any remaining Maoists were either captured or neutralized.

The situation is being closely monitored by senior officials, and the ground forces are regularly in touch with them. It is seen as a significant security force achievement for the forces engaged in the ongoing operations against the Maoists, especially for the neutralization of three Naxals and recovery of a good weapons cache.

The continuous operations by these agencies are in line with the firm commitment of the government and security agencies to completely wipe out the Naxal threat and to bring peace and security to the affected areas in Chhattisgarh. They plan to continue their efforts so that the area becomes completely free of Maoist influence.
