Kanker: Security forces foiled the nefarious designs of Naxalites on Sunday in the forested and hilly area of the Kanker-Narayanpur border in Chhattisgarh. During a joint operation in the Kurkunj village area, DRG and BSF teams recovered a pressure cooker IED. Acting on a tip-off, the BSF’s Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) arrived at the scene and safely defused and destroyed the IED.
According to reports, a joint team of the DRG and BSF conducted a search operation in the area as part of the Naxal-eradication operation. During this search, a pressure cooker IED weighing approximately 5 to 7 kg was recovered in a forested and hilly area. The BDS team safely defused and destroyed it.
Due to the vigilance of the security forces, a major tragedy was averted. Legal action is being taken in the Koylibeda police station. Anti-Naxal operations are continuing in the area.
