Khairagarh: Mandeep Khol cave, considered to be the second largest in Asia, was opened for devotees today, where a large number of devotees came to have darshan of Bholenath. In fact, every year on the first Monday after Akshaya Tritiya, the door of this cave is opened for devotees for a day and thousands of devotees come to have darshan of Bholenath. The number of devotees is increasing year by year.
Thousands of devotees not only from the state but from every corner of the country come to visit this cave dedicated to Bholenath. After crossing inaccessible roads, dense forests and river drains, devotees have reached the court of Baba Mandeep Khol. Guniram Baiga, Vishnu Pujari said, there are many beliefs of the princely period associated with the Mandeep Khol cave. For years, the landlords of Thakurtola open this cave for only one day on the Monday after Akshaya Tritiya, after performing ritual worship. Aerial fire is also done before removing rocks to protect against wild animals. Only the people of the Zamindar family enter the cave first and worship the Shivalinga and other gods and goddesses as per the rituals and pray for the prosperity of the area.
From the geographical point of view, Mandeep Khol Cave is located in a beautiful part of the Maikal mountain range, it is not easy to reach here, because there is no permanent way to reach the cave. Road route exists only till Palmyatta or Thakurtola. After this, the devotees have to cross the mountains with the help of footpaths through dense forests and also cross the rivers and drains on the way. Devotees cross the White Ganga emerging from the pond located near the cave 16 times on the way and get the darshan of Baba Bholenath.
