Raipur: Amid fears of third wave of COVID, the Chhattisgarh Government has decided to shut down schools upto fifth class. The state government has issued an official order regarding the same.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel chaired an meeting with council of ministers to review the COVID situation in the state. The COVID cases are rising in Chhattisgarh and the active cases are increasing everyday. The administration has warned the health department to be alert of the situation and medical necessities arising in the state.
“Coronavirus cases are rising rapidly and it seems a third wave is approaching”, the CM said today. He further added that a lockdown shall be the last option after various curbs and measures implemented remain unsuccessful in taming the spread of the infection.
Earlier on Sunday, Chhattisgarh Chief minister TS Singh announced that he has been tested COVID positive. This is the second time he has been infected with the virus as the earlier instance of being in March last year. On Sunday, Chhattisgarh reported 290 fresh infections. Efforts have been made to increase testing at airports, railway stations, and bus stands.
