Raipur: Chhattisgarh government announced the reopening of schools, colleges, and universities in the state from August 2 with 50 per cent attendance. Considering the declining COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh, Industrial Training Institutes will also reopen along with polytechnics, engineering, and medical colleges in a phased manner.

Chhattisgarh’s Education Minister. Dr. Taekam said that the education department is fully prepared to deal with the spread of COVID-19 virus. The minister said that “In light of the current Covid-19 situation, physical classes for students of universities and colleges for the academic session 2021-22 will be started from August 2 with 50 percent daily attendance.”

He further added that the schools will reopen in areas with no COVID-19 cases only. As only 50 percent of students will be allowed to attend the classes physically, students will be allowed to attend classes on alternate days. While online classes for all the streams will continue, the physical presence of students at school will not be mandatory.
The decision to reopen schools was taken as 70-80 per cent of the teachers have been vaccinated. At the same time, the administration has advised the parents to explain to the children the COVID guidelines they must follow.
