Chhattisgarh: CM Bhupesh Baghel and Health Minister TS Singh Deo are scheduled to arrive in Delhi tomorrow. The ministers would meet former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and the State Incharge PL Punia.
After an internal resentment between the CM and TS Singh Deo, the leaders have been called to Delhi. This resolution has now become another issue for the central leadership after tackling rifts in Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and a couple of North Eastern States.
This rift in the ruling party came after CM Baghel, was made in charge of the Assam Assembly, which seemed favourable for him. It is speculated that the high command would appoint CM Baghel as the election affairs head in UP next year. According to Health Minister TS Singh Deo, the ruling Congress party had promised to appoint him as the CM of the state two and a half years after Mr Baghel came into power in 2018.
During the monsoon session of the State Legislative Assembly this year, huge chaos was witnessed as Health Minster walked out of the Assembly demanding an enquiry into the allegations staged by MLA Brihaspat Singh. The rift further deepened after Deo sought a meeting with the party high command seeking to replace Baghel. Both leaders have reportedly met senior Congress leaders at different points in Delhi to seek a solution to the crisis. Congress general secretary in charge of the State PL Punia visited Chhattisgarh recently and tried to strike down the differences and rubbished the possibility of any change of leadership.
