Raipur: Liquor shops that were shut down due to the lockdown ,opened on Wednesday. The crowd disregarded all COVID norms and accumulated in huge numbers across the liquor stores of the state. Barely a few shops followed the social distancing norms and monitored the visitors.
As per the survey of the State Excise department, Rs 17 crore worth liquor was sold in the state on the very first day of the re-opening.
To this survey, Dr Raman hurled a scathing comment on the Bhupesh Bagel Government. Taking to his Twitter handle he mocked CM Bhupesh writing,
” Befikr Hokar Soya Hua Hai Hakeem, Sadhko Par Maut Ka Bazaar Kholkar, Haath Me Gangajal Lekar Sharab Bandi Ka Wada Karne Wale, Bhupesh Baghel Ne Is Disha Me Ek Kadam Badaya, Congress Sarkar Ki Teesri Lehar se aane Ki Tyyari Dekhiye.”
Individuals were seen rejoicing this new relaxation by the government piling up in dozens outside the shops. The State administration had directed all liquor shops to shut down on April 9 under the lockdown implemented.
Stores selling foreign and premium liquor will be operating from 31 May as per the directions of the administration. However, these can still be purchased online.
