Chattisgarh: Efforts are being ramped up to rescue Rahul from the abandoned 80 feet borewell. Four days now, the rescue team has inched closer to Rahul, sources say.
It is being learnt that water from the stopdams is being released as the rescue team inches closer to the child. Apart from this, experts from the forest department have also been deployed to take care of the insects that might surface as the team digs through. A rescue team has also been called from Rajasthan to facilitate evacuation.
Taking to his Twitter handle CM Bhupesh Baghel said, “The rescue operation is till on. Pulling out the boy will take some more time as a stone was discovered while drilling the ground. However, the voices of NDRF jawans, resonating around the borewell for the last three days, continue to be Rahul’s hopes. At 5am today, he ate a banana,” Baghel tweeted in Hindi.
The incident took place around 2pm last Friday when Rahul Sahu was playing in the backyard of his house in Malkharoda development block’s Pihrid village. Around 500 army personnel from NDRD and SDRF teams along with medics who are constantly monitoring the child.
