Bastar district in-charge minister, deputy chief Minister, Vijay Sharma, has instructed the authorities to take immediate legal action against the property of any smuggler of liquor or any other narcotic drug within a legal limit of twice. He gave this directive at the departmental review meeting at the district office, Jagdalpur.

In the gathering, Sharma went through current innovations and the implementation of numerous schemes in the district. He also trained the police department, representatives of the people, and drug dealers to conduct a coordination meeting to eliminate drug abuse. Early delivery of OPD services at the Super Speciality Hospital, Jagdalpur, was also proposed by him, to give the citizens a better opportunity to seek specialist care.

Sharma proposed to build commercial complexes along national and state highways in village panchayats to increase the revenue levels of the local bodies so that they become self-sustaining. He also called for the training of panchayat secretaries in updating cases of undisputed partition in the revenue records, and he mandated publicity campaigns through announcements and hoardings.

The review included various sections such as innovation under the Panchayat Department, schemes of village-level employment, shelter project and rehabilitation of surrendered and victimised in Naxal-affected regions. He evaluated the Swachh Bharat Mission, three-month action plans, and law enforcement against illegal liquor sale, gambling, cattle smuggling, traffic offences and arrests of people who break and act under the NDPS Act.

The healthcare initiatives, which were also assessed in the meeting, include the distribution of Ayushman Card, mobile health vans, Jan Aushadhi centres and sickle cell diagnosis programs. Reviews were done through agriculture, irrigation, provision of electricity by PM Surry Ghar Yojana, infrastructure development, educational programs such as mission 200 and zero-dropout, and welfare provisions of women, marginalised communities, and children.

Sharma stressed the aspect of transparency, timeliness, and accountability in everything relating to developmental work,s and on anything short of this, no one would be spared.
