Raipur: Chhattisgarh Minister Ravindra Choubey has been appointed as the state’s Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development.
The announcement was made by CM Bhupesh Baghel during the monsoon session today. He further added the decision was taken after a series of discussion with the state Governor.
State Health Minister TS Singh Deo had relenquished his post as the Panchayat Minister on July 16th. Citing inefficiency in delivering the task Singh chose to vacate the aforesaid portfolios. It should be noted that he still heads the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, Twenty Point Implementation and Commercial Tax (GST) departments.
Ravindra Choubey is one of the senior-most leaders of the Chhattisgarh Congress, who is active in politics before the formation of the state. When Chhattisgarh was a part of Madhya Pradesh, from then till date, Ravindra Choubey has played important roles in the development of the state several times. He currently heads the dept of Legislative Affairs, Law and Legal Affairs, Agriculture and Bio-Technology,Animal husbandry, Fisheries and Water Resources.
