Raipur: Former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh expressed anticipation for the results of the upcoming assembly elections scheduled for December 3. He commended the hard work of party workers and credited central leadership for providing ample time for preparations. Analyzing the campaign progress in the first and second phases, Raman Singh confidently predicted a clear majority for the BJP, indicating the formation of a BJP-led government. The assessment, derived from surveys and discussions with workers across various constituencies, points towards BJP winning at least 52 to 54 seats, ensuring a decisive victory.
Regarding the decision of Minister TS Singh Deo not to contest in the elections and the Chief Ministerial candidacy of Raman Singh, the former Chief Minister expressed sarcasm. He stated that his pain is genuine, having waited for five years, as the promise made to him was deferred multiple times. Raman Singh emphasized that the desire for change in leadership within the BJP is now awakening.
Discussing the internal conflicts within the Congress during the elections, Raman Singh highlighted the visible discord within the party. Leaders, even significant ones, were constrained to their constituencies, revealing a lack of cohesiveness. Raman Singh pointed out that Deepak Baij’s comments about women voting for BJP align with the party’s plans and manifesto. He criticized the Congress for its retaliatory statements against women voters, labeling it as deception and fraud. Raman Singh identified the significant shift in women’s voting patterns, reflecting a vote for change.
Responding to the cancellation of trains, Raman Singh attributed it to temporary arrangements. He reassured that once the tracks are complete, all issues will be resolved, emphasizing ongoing communication with the railway authorities. On the question of candidacy for Chief Minister, Raman Singh stated that the BJP has not yet decided the face. Collective leadership has been predetermined, and the selection will occur promptly during the legislative party meeting, avoiding any delays.
