Chhattisgarh: Former CM of the state and national party Vice President Raman Singh on Tuesday asserted two IAS officers involved in the PDS Scam should be dismissed from their post until the case is in court. He alleged that the Baghel led govt was shading two officers in the multi-crore Public Distribution System scam.
Citing the news report published on Tuesday, Dr Raman Singh during a press conference made the statement. On Tuesday, a news report stated that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had informed the SC through an affidavit the involvement of CM Bhupesh Baghel and few members of the SIT investigating the PDS Scam allegedly trying to manipulate evidence and weaken the case against the two IAS officers.
“It is very clear that the Congress government made several mistakes in the entire case. Congress government ordered a fresh SIT probe in the case where a charge sheet was already filed. They were also reports of pressuring investigation officer to bring in light new evidence. The officers (two IAS) for whom Congress wrote a letter to the Prime Minister demanding strict action on them so much so as asking that these officers should be put in jail… But now when they are in power, they are weakening their cases and did nothing against them,” said Former CM addressing the media.
On the contrary, Congress claimed that the Centre is misusing the central agencies for political purposes and stated that the allegations levelled against state agencies were politically driven.
The two officers involved in the case are former MD of Nangrik Apurti Nigam, Anil Kumar Tujeja and Chairman Alok Shukla.
