Raipur: After the Central authorities reached a decision of obtaining 24 lakh MT paddy from the Chhattisgarh authorities on Sunday, the state government claimed that the Centre has not adopted its dedication to obtaining 60 lakh MT of the food grain.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in an interview, stated the state unit of BJP is deceiving the Centre by informing them that the state is procuring paddy at Rs 2500 per quintal, not on MSP.
Baghel stated that the Congress authorities are giving extra money below a special scheme and the BJP government is trying to hamper the state authorities’ Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, under which the state government is giving Rs 10,000/- per acre to sugarcane, paddy, and maize farmers of the state.
The Centre’s resolution on Sunday has given the Congress-led authorities a political weapon to focus on the BJP saying, which reveals that the Centre is not eager concerning the welfare of farmers and the minimal help value assurance.
It is noteworthy that, previously, the Government of India had decided to allow 24 lakhs MT rice to be delivered to FCI under central pool during KMS 2020-’21, which is equivalent to the quantity as allowed in the previous year of Chattisgarh.
