Raipur: The Health department of Chhattisgarh’s Raipur district on Thursday gives their nod on coronavirus tests on people entering the border of Raipur, amid a surge in cases in the Capital. Teams of Health officials along with police force will be deployed at various entry checkpoints.

According to the source, Only when the test result is negative will the entry be allowed within the boundary of the district and those who are found to be positive will be send back. In this case, the District Medical Officer has demanded security force from Senior Superintendent of Police.

Sources to be believe, the commuters will be tested via rapid antigen tests, to ensure that the movement of traffic is not affected.

This major development came in view after rise in coronavirus cases in Raipur from past few days The Health Department has decided to conduct a corona check on all the boundaries of the district.

Meanwhile,With 2,048 new COVID-19 cases and 23 fatalities, Chhattisgarh”s caseload rose to 2,15,413 while death toll reached 2,646 on Wednesday, a health official said.

District Medical Officer, Dr. Meera Baghel, said that “after tireless efforts, the corona infection cycle has broken but after Diwali the number of corona infected patients has seen an edge.”

“Therefore, to prevent the spread, it has been planned that rapid antigen test will be done on all routes reaching the capital. Only when the status of the test comes negative , entry will be allowed in the capital, the commuters will be send back when positive. At present, the security force has been sought for the assessment, after which the team will be deployed on all major routes,” she further said.

Just in Case, Health officials wearing personal protection equipment kits seen at the border locations along with policemen don’t be alarmed. They are just to curb the spread of the coronavirus further.
