Raipur. Raipur GRP SP Shweta Sinha revealed an incident of theft of service revolver, 4 magazines and 24 live cartridges of ASI and Head Constable of Indian Tibet Police (ITBP) in the general coach of Hatia-Durg Express on Tuesday. GRP has arrested the accused Ranjit Markam in this case and seized two revolvers, 3 magazines and 24 live cartridges from him.
GRP SP, while revealing the theft, said that ITBP ASI YP Ojha, Head Constable (Telecom) Jitendra Singh and Constable Buddh Dev Malik were going from Hatia to Durg. When the train reached Champa station at 3 am, they fell asleep. When they woke up at 5.50 am at Bhatapara station, the bag was missing. Ojha immediately informed the control room. After this, the footage from Champa to Bhatapara was searched. The Railway Protection Force and GRP team also searched the CCTV of Bilaspur station, in which GRP got important clues. During the investigation, the documents and clothes of the complainant were recovered from the bushes between Bilaspur Railway Station Chowk and Titli Chowk.
The thief who stole the Pittu bag containing the pistol turned out to be very clever. The thief threw clothes and documents at two different places to mislead the police and GRP. The first time the items were found behind the GRP office, while the second time they were found near the Coach Restaurant. During the investigation, the GRP was misled here too, because three roads lead from here, due to which the officers were confused as to which direction the thief went. But this cleverness of the thief did not last long in front of the GRP and now the accused is in the custody of the GRP.
