Raipur: As many as 322 people and 5 deaths have been recorded so far by the State Health Ministry. The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) on Thursday initiated a campaign to survey the affected areas and inflicted residents. The team of the Health Department of the Corporation is reaching every house and checking the sources of larvae and spraying Temephos and Malaria Oil as per the requirement. So far 4,335 houses have been inspected informed Health Officer Vijay Pandey.
On the instruction of Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, Commissioner Prabhat Malik, and the Health Department President, the Health authorities on Wednesday launched a general awareness campaign to educate the residents of the fort. Additionally, the team of the Health Department of Zone 6 conducted a special cleanliness drive in Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Ward-58 and Moreshwar Rao Gadre Ward-59.
On Thursday, a team from the RMC conducted a camp in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Ward-24. As per the schedule issued, officials will conduct a campaign at Sant Ramdas on Sept 3 followed by Tatyapara Ward-37 on the 4th Sept. Shaheed Chudamani Nayak Ward 38- will be surveyed and disinfected on Sept 5 while Swami Atmanand War-39 will be surveyed on Sept 6.
The state administration has announced to collect a spot fine of Rs 300 from landlords defying the rules levied in regards to maintenance of the premises.
Earlier, the district Corporation had launched an anti-larval operation under which the infected areas were detected and disinfected. The Health Department has been constantly monitoring the spread of vector-borne diseases and is implementing strategies to destroy the source and curb the spread.
