Raipur: Raipur Police has now swung into action after BJP-BJYM’s Halla Bol protest in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur turned violent on Wednesday. Raipur Police has identified 20 nominated and other BJP workers through videography and photography. They are accused of being involved in uproar, sabotage, obstructing government proceedings and other cases.
A crime has been registered against Jagdalpur activists Avinash Srivastava, Anand Jha, and others. Allegations have been posed on them for inciting the police to lathi-charge, using abusive words, indecency, and pushing the jawans near OCM chowk. Meanwhile, another case has been registered against Tushar Chopra and others at Kotwali Police Station for indecency, assault, and obstructing government proceedings. A video has been surfaced wherein BJP leader Tushar Chopra can be seen having a scuffle with the police.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sukhnandan Rathore said that on the basis of CCTV footage and videos, more people shall be identified and actions shall be taken on these.
Contrarily, BJP leaders have said that while going to gherao the CM residence from Bhagat Singh Chowk, the police began to lathi charge them. Activists Anurag Choubey led by OP Choudhary went ahead and clashed with the police. After this, pictures of the stick wound on Anurag’s back surfaced.
