Raipur: The Raipur Lok Sabha Seat becomes the center of political attraction is a dome-shaped arena with over a dozen candidates trying their luck to win elections than the present Brijmohan Agrawal and Vikas Upadhyay elected the last time.
The returning officer/collector issued the notice for the parliamentary elections, Dr. Gaurav Singh, at 11 a.m. on Friday, setting in motion the nomination procedure for the legislative elections to the elected member of parliament.
On the first day, 16 people reached for forms of nomination, and only 14 were nominated upon a security fee deposit. Among the applicants are from the nationals, regionals, or independent parties, and five individual ones. They spent the nomination forms money to run a campaign from Raipur Lok Sabha constituency.
Finally, the fray for the Raipur Lok Sabha seat was marked by the candidates of the various political parties, namely Bodhan Lal Farikar, Praveen Jain, Rohit Kumar Patil, Dinesh Dhruv, and Rajesh Dhruv, who fought as independent candidates. Lakhmu Ram Tandan from the National People’s Party, Peela Ram Anant from the Sundar Samaj Party, Brijmohan Agrawal from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Vishwajeet Harrade from the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), Neeraj Saini from the Ghoom Sena, Dayashankar Nishad from the Bharatiya Shakti Party, Manoj Varma from the Chetan Party, Savita Banjare from the Shakti Sena Bharat Desh Ki, Ravi Kumar Srivastava from the All India Jan Seva Party, Tilak Sonkar from the Indian National Congress, and Anil Kumar Mahobiya from the Right to Recall Party have also submitted their nomination forms. In the standing bidding, except for Jaimat Sankar and Pranesh Prasad, the rest of the 14 contestants pay the required amount as security.
A glimpse at all these varied candidates implies the depth of the importance of the Raipur Parliamentary constituency in the upcoming Parliament election. Selecting the course of action requires differentiating between the tactics of the various parties and the notion that the race will be hinged on a close contest.
