Chhattisgarh: The Raipur Police on Thursday submitted a charge sheet in the district court against the suspended ADG GP Singh. The police officials on Wednesday had sought permission from the Law Department to submit the charge sheet without an arrest warrant.

The charge sheet consisted of a 400-page document that was submitted to the court of the first-class judge Om Prakash Sahu. The court would issue an arrest warrant after studying the document.

The Anti- Corruption Bureau on the 3rd July had issued a written notice to the suspended ADG GP Singh after conducting a day three long raid that commenced on 1st August. The Raipur Police had also served a notice twice to the suspended police officer summoning him for questioning. However, he failed to arrive, which coerced the authorities to take action against GP Singh.

A case of sedition was registered at the Kotwali Police Station against GP Singh for possessing disproportionate assets. The ACB and EOW had raided GP Singh’s residence in Raipur and seized documents that indicated serious conspiracy against the state government. The ACB had also seized documents from the state bank manager Mani Bhushan and businessman Preetpal Singh, who are apparently friends of the suspended officer.
