Raipur: Sachin Rao, the former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi’s strategic strategist, has arrived in Raipur, the state capital of Chhattisgarh. At Swami Vivekananda Airport, he was received by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Ministers Ravindra Choubey and Mohammad Akbar were also present at the airport to receive him. From the airport, all of the leaders went to Naya Raipur.
He is supposed to assess the proposed Sevagram in Naya Raipur while he’s there. The agitation has grown in Chhattisgarh as a result of Rao’s presence, despite the state’s political upheaval. The state government plans to construct a Gandhi Ashram in Naya Raipur, similar to the one in Wardha. Rao has arrived on the orders of the top organization to assess the situation and preparation for building the ashram.
Rao’s visit to Raipur is significant in the context of Chhattisgarh’s debate over the 2-and-a-half-year formula. Ministers TS Singhdev and Tamradhwaj Sahu recently travelled to Delhi. They are expected to meet with the central leaders there. Meanwhile, Rao has arrived in Raipur to meet with party officials and senior leaders about the Gandhi Ashram preparations. Sachin Rao oversees the National Students Union of India (NSUI), the party’s student branch and the Youth Congress and organisational structures. Rao has an MBA in corporate strategy and international management from Michigan Business School, according to the Congress website.
