Raipur: Chhattisgarh is set to witness Queer Pride March today. The march is organised by Mitwa Samiti, a trust working for the rights of the third gender community and QueerGarh, a youth-run initiative for the rights of LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Queer).
The event will begin at Ghadi Chowk at 3 PM and will conclude at the Telibandha Talab, followed by a cultural programme for social awareness. Various artists from the LGBTQ+ community and allies will share messages of equality and tolerance through their performances.
Pride marches are organised in all major cities of the world by the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) community to reassert their right to live with dignity. The first pride march was organised in Raipur in September 2019.
