Raipur: The joint action of Chhattisgarh Police and paramilitary forces that draw Naxalites to join the society is yielding positive results with Naxal activities confined to just a few pockets in Chhattisgarh. According to information received from DIG (Naxal Operations), as many as 57 Naxalites surrendered in the month of March. A total of 37 Naxalites have also been arrested and four Naxalites have been killed in different encounters in March.
Besides, during the anti-Naxal operation, the police recovered five weapons and seized and defused 20 IEDs in Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma districts. Information from DIG (Naxal Operations) claims that continuous patrolling and search work is being done by police and paramilitary forces in dense forest and hilly regions of the worst-Maoist affected Dantewada, Bijapur and Sukma districts.
The anti-Naxal campaign is being run by Chhattisgarh Police to curb Maoist activities in the state. The joint operation of police and paramilitary forces is going on which is reaping success. Gun battles between the police and paramilitary forces have become a thing of the past.
