Jashpur: Following the apprehension of Naxal activity in the district, policing has escalated its vigilance. To ensure the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections proceed peacefully, a rigorous search operation was conducted in 14 villages bordering Jashpur and Jharkhand states under the leadership of SP Shashi Mohan Singh. This operation saw joint participation from the Jashpur Battalion and Jharkhand Police. Several individuals, including Area Commander Sargana Tunesh Lakda alias Ravi, were apprehended from police stations in Narayanpur and Kunakuri areas.
In the aftermath, to prevent the reemergence of Naxal influence in the district, SP Shashi Mohan Singh led intensive search campaigns in sensitive and remote areas such as Manora, Kantabel, Bichhittoli, Kharsota, Dadgaon, Khokhsobenjora, Kulhadi, Madhwa, Lukhi, Kera Kona, Hardikona, Daunapath, GoriyatoIi, Karmakona, and others. Simultaneously, actions were taken against areas of dominance by the Naxals. During these operations, police forces diligently inspected sensitive polling stations.
Furthermore, discussions were held regarding mutual cooperation in apprehending warrants issued in both states. Police Chief Shashi Mohan Singh highlighted that the district has been free from Naxal incidents for five years. However, the pressure on Naxals in Bastar is prompting them to extend their reach to new areas. Consequently, the Jashpur police remain vigilant to prevent any resurgence of Naxal activity in the district. Continuous joint efforts with Jharkhand Police are being undertaken to effectively execute search operations and dominance activities.
In essence, the collaborative efforts between Jashpur and Jharkhand police aim to ensure the security and tranquillity of the region, especially in light of the approaching elections. The heightened alertness and proactive measures underscore the commitment to maintaining law and order and thwarting any disruptive elements.
