Raipur. The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospitals at Birgaon and Korba in Chhattisgarh are almost ready. Preparations are being made to inaugurate the hospital built under the central scheme from the Union Minister or Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, a construction-related issue is delaying the process of inauguration. Due to this, more than 22.50 lakh people who come under the benefit of this are deprived of better medical services.
According to the information received, Birgaon ESIC Hospital in Raipur has been prepared by Hindustan Prefab Limited (HPL), but 25 per cent of the construction work is being said to be incomplete by the company which claims to complete the work in 2019. On the other hand, the work of ESIC Hospital, constructed with an amount of more than 70 crores in Korba, has been completed, but due to the use of this hospital as a temporary covid hospital by the state government, they are in the mood to hand it over to ESIC. Here, there is constant correspondence between the Union Ministry and the local ESIC office to start the hospital at the earliest, but the result is zero.
Let us inform you that for both the hospitals, recruitment has been done on the posts of a superintendent, medical officer, nursing personnel, paramedical staff, but due to the irregularity of the hospital, there is no work for the doctors and medical personnel. Some doctors have been attached to other hospitals, while all others have to pay salaries without taking any work. Medical workers are also troubled by roaming here and there unnecessarily.
