Raipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several railway projects worth more than 85,000 crores on Tuesday, aimed at enhancing the fundamental infrastructure of the country. The event included the unveiling of 10 new Vande Bharat trains. The inauguration and foundation laying of numerous railway projects and 10 new Vande Bharat trains nationwide were conducted through a video conferencing session initiated by PM Modi.
Among the notable projects was the inauguration of the “One Station One Product” (OSOP) scheme in the Raipur Rail Mandal, featuring 18 stations. This initiative aims to promote the “Vocal for Local” perspective by providing market access for local and indigenous products and generating additional income opportunities for communities along the railway corridors. The OSOP scheme was launched to enhance the overall development and economic upliftment of regions served by these railway stations.
The program witnessed the inauguration of the Van Product (One Station One Product) stall at the Raipur Rail Mandal, the expansion of the Bhilai MEMU Car Shed, the upgrading of the Durg Coaching Depot Pit Line, and the initiation of various developmental activities at railway stations such as Raipur, Durg, Bhilai MEMU Car Shed, Dalli Rajhara, Bhanupratappur, Bhataapara, and Bilha.
During the event, Governor Vishnu Bhushan Harichandan expressed gratitude for PM Modi’s commitment to developing various projects nationwide. Chief Minister Vishnudeva Sai acknowledged the significant day for the entire nation and Chhattisgarh, highlighting the allocation of 85,000 crores for the inauguration of 6,000 projects and groundbreaking ceremonies.
CM Sai emphasized the rapid progress in the railway-related projects in Chhattisgarh, with an allocation of 6,896 crores in the 2024-25 budget. He praised the central government’s support, emphasizing the transformation of 32 railway stations in Chhattisgarh into world-class facilities.
Cabinet Minister Tankaram Verma lauded PM Modi’s leadership for propelling the country’s rapid development, particularly in the upliftment of the railway sector with an investment of 85,000 crores. He supported CM Sai in the collective effort towards Chhattisgarh’s growth. The day marked a momentous occasion as PM Modi’s vision translated into tangible benefits for farmers, ensuring the disbursement of the promised compensation and fostering prosperity in their lives.
