Raipur: A major accident took place at Raipur railway station in which a passenger died a painful death. According to the information received by Lalluram, a passenger traveling from Barmpur in Odisha to Surat by Puri-Ahmedabad Express got down at Raipur railway station to pick up some luggage.
Meanwhile, the train started moving and he tried to board the moving train and slipped and got stuck between the platform and the train. The passenger remained stuck in this painful condition till the train stopped. After this, the entire team of railway and RPF tried to save the passenger. The railway staff cut the ladder of the train, but in the end the passenger could not be saved and the passenger died a painful death. According to the information received by Lalluram, this accident happened while boarding the B-3 coach and the passenger’s berth was in S6.
Puri Ahmedabad Express was stopped at platform number 3 at the Raipur railway station at around 10 am. When the train started, a person tried to board the train by running. But due to his feet getting stuck, the person fell on the railway track. Both his feet got stuck between the footrest and the box of the train. After about 1 hour of hard work, the person was taken out. He was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.
Accident happened while boarding the train: Senior DCM of Raipur Railway Division, Awadhesh Kumar Trivedi said that “Puri Ahmedabad Express train arrived at platform number 3 at around 9:40 am on Friday. After some time, when the train started moving, a person was boarding the train running. Then the foot of 36-year-old Tirath Dalai slipped. The deceased passenger was going from Baharampur to Surat with his family, when this accident happened. Passenger Tirath Dalai died in this accident.
