Raipur: There is a political row after the iPhone of PCC Chief Deepak Baij was stolen on Sunday in a surprising incident that happened at the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) headquarters, Rajiv Bhavan in Raipur. The robbery happened in the course of the meeting that was taking place of the Chhattisgarh NSUI state executive. As reports indicated, Baij had left the meeting hall temporarily to meet and greet the press, after which an individual masquerading as a party worker was reported to have stolen his iPhone 15 Pro.
The event has created deeply worried minds among the members of the Congress and has sparked off intense political responses. A BJP leader, Radhika Kheda, took a potshot at the Congress via her social media post, wherein she posed the question why the party headquarters was not secured. She found it confusing that there were no CCTV cameras even in such an important political facility.
They are saying the mobile phone of Chhattisgarh Congress President Deepak Baij has been robbed by the latter himself at the Chhattisgarh state headquarters in Raipur. “At a point when people tried to trace the thief, it was found out that there are no CCTV cameras in the building!” Kheda posted on Facebook.
She also said, “This is not the first time. When I was detained inside this Congress office in Chhattisgarh, there were no cameras then either.”
On its part, Kheda too questioned the rationale that may have informed the absence of the surveillance or, in other words, it was believed that not only the theft prevention may have been involved but also the cover-up of previous malnutrition. “Those are some dark secrets of the last five years that the Congress is trying to hold behind this building? Is it about concealing rather than about theft prevention?” she wondered.
This case has been reported to KharmarDih Police Station and an investigation is in the lines.
