RAIPUR: The paddy procurement in CG on Thursday crossed 75LMT under the procurement program that began on November 1st. The govt this year aims to procure about 110 LMT of paddy for the Kharif Marketing season 2022-23.

A total of 2,568 procurement centers have been set up across the state and until December 28th Rs 15,582 crore have been released into the accounts of farmers, an official said on Thursday. A total of 24.95 lakh farmers have registered for the selling their paddy this year. Until December 20th, 58LMT of paddy was procured by the govt officials. So far 48 LMT of paddy rice been lifted by millers for processing.

CM Bhupesh Baghel congratulated the farmers on the major achievement in such a short span of time.

The CG Govt eyes 110 LMT of paddy procurement for the current Kharif Season under the program continuing until 31 January. Last year, around 98 lakh MT of paddy was purchased from cultivators in the state.
