Bijapur. An innocent villager was killed in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh after being hit by a Naxalite-planted pressure IED. He had gone to the forest to collect firewood when he was struck by the pressure IED. The powerful blast severely damaged both his legs. He died on the way to the hospital for treatment.
According to reports, the incident occurred on January 18th in the village of Kasturipada. Ayta Kuhrami was heading towards the forest area of Kasturipada. During the incident, the villager was hit by a pressure IED planted by Maoists, severely damaging both of his legs. The young man died on the way to the hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, security forces have launched a continuous search operation in the area. IED deactivation operations are also underway to prevent such incidents in the future.
