BHILAI: CG Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed grief over the accident that took place at the under-construction flyover in Kumhari. District authorities have been instructed to provide punitive care to the pillion who survived the accident and suffered injuries. A probe has been launched against the contractor of the flyover being constructed between Bhilai and Raipur.
Baghel has instructed district officials to ensure all safety measures are in place including barricading the flyover. The instructions came through posts on Twitter where he also expressed grief over the death of the bike rider.
A car and a passenger-laden bike fell from the under-construction bridge in Kumhari on Friday night. The passengers in the car identified as Aju Ram and Nirmala, survived the accident as the airbags were activated immediately as they detected a fall. However, the biker who had a girl as a pillion succumbed to the fall and died on the spot.
Four flyovers are being constructed in CG at Kumhari, Debapara, Power House, and Supela. The state administration has sanctioned a sum of Rs 350 crore for the projects.
