Raipur: The NSUI president Akash Sharma filed an FIR on Tuesday evening against central BJP leaders accusing the saffron party of forging All India Congress Committee letterhead to float a purported document on social media dubbing it as ‘Congress toolkit’ that snowballed into an ugly political slugfest between the parties.

Hours after BJP leaders tweeted about the letter levelling charges against the opposition on Tuesday, Raipur’s Civil Lines police registered their first FIR in the toolkit case.   The police noted former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra and others as accused. The Congress Committee lodged complaint in every police division of the state demanding immediate arrest. The FIR was registered against BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Minister Smriti Irani, General Secretary BL Santosh and Sambit Patra.

Former CM Raman on Twitter issued a statement countering the FIR levelled by the Raipur Police. He said,” Congress doesn’t hesitate in tarnishing one’s image to earn profit out of it. Instead of contributing to balance the COVID-19 situation, it is spreading rumours and fear amongst the citizens.”

Today, Chhattisgarh Youth Congress leaders and workers also reached the Civil Lines police station in Raipur with a complaint against BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra. Youth Congress state president Purnchand (Koko) Padhi alleged that Patra misused the Letterhead of the Congress.
