Bijapur: It was reported that Naxals ruthlessly attacked two former sarpanches in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district. They were kidnapped from different places; Suklu Farsa from Suklu Farsa village, who was a former sarpanch of the village, and Sukhram Avlam, a former sarpanch of Kader village.

It is said that Suklu Farsa was kidnapped at Biryabhumi village in the Bhairamgarh police station area when he was on his way on November 2. However, Sukhram Avlam has been kidnapped from Murga Bazaar under the police station of Naimed. Unfortunately, both were executed by the Naxals after they had been kidnapped.

Worse still, the Naxals, accompanied by the warning, left a press note next to Suklu Farsa’s dead body. The note had allegations that he is a BJP supporter, and he claims that he had been warned thrice to quit the BJP party. Apparently, the Naxals ignored these warnings, and the result was the execution of the accused in what Naxals probably used in a punitive manner.

Suklu Farsa’s daughter Yamini Farsa had also cried on video to the Naxals to spare her father and let him go free. They also had reported to the police the abduction of the child by the family. Nevertheless, anticipating these measures, the Naxals committed the barbarous act they had intended.

Additional Superintendent of Police Chandra Kant Gavarna of Bijapur said that the encounter had indeed happened, and a police team had been sent to the site. He said that all legal processes would be observed, and attempts would be made to ensure that the wrongdoers are made to face the music.

However, this act calls the perennial Naxal violence in the region continued to cultivate the cases of violence that not only kills innocent people but also derails the process of management and establishing tranquillity in areas it affects.
