Bijapur: Two persons were injured near Rajpenta village in the Bijapur district this morning after Naxalites blew up their vehicle using an IED. The incident took place around 9 AM, at a spot near Rajpenta village, between Tarrem and Basaguda villages, when the victims were heading towards Tarrem, in an MUV (multi-utility vehicle).
A team of police personnel rushed to the spot after being alerted about the explosion and admitted the injured persons to a local hospital. “The vehicle was mangled due to the impact of the blast.
The injured persons were identified as Mohammed Iqbal Ansari, the owner of the vehicle, and Balram Pradhan, a motor mechanic.” – stated a police official.
He further added – “As per preliminary information, Ansari was taking Pradhan along with him to fix his truck that had stopped near Tarrem due to some technical fault.” The police are suspecting that the rebels might have targeted security forces and end up attacking a civilian vehicle mistakenly.
There is news that the Naxalites also killed two villagers at Gangaloor and left their cadavers on the highway. The investigation is in progress, said the Gangaloor SP. Naxalites have also murdered Sarpanch’s (village-head) husband with a sharp weapon at Handawada village in Dantewada block. The name of the deceased is Santosh Kashyap.
3 IED bombs have been rooted out during a search operation that was performed at Tadokee block near Antagarh. Contextually, the spot witnessed an encounter between the security forces and the Naxalites.
