Raipur: In an effort to showcase glimpses of development in the state, youth from severely Naxal-affected areas are being taken on a tour to Raipur. Vijay Sharma, the Deputy Chief Minister, engaged in administrative training institute discussions and shared a meal with these tribal youths. Niharika Barik, Chief Secretary of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, also held meetings with the rural populace. The tribal youths, who have been deprived of essential facilities due to hindrances caused by Naxal activities in these areas, were brought to the administrative training institute by Vijay Sharma for interactions.

Naxal-affected regions have witnessed developmental initiatives hampered by the influence of Naxals, resulting in the Adivasi population being cut off from basic amenities. The ongoing development in the state has been drawing youths from unknown Naxal areas into the allure of Naxal ideologies. Recently, after touring Naxal-affected areas, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma recognized the need to address the challenges faced by Adivasis in areas like TekeLguda. Consequently, a program has been devised for the Raipur visit of Adivasis from various villages, including Hidma’s village.

The initiative aims to expose Adivasi youths to the advancements and opportunities available in the mainstream society. Vijay Sharma has planned visits to places such as malls, agricultural colleges, and industrial hubs like Mekahar for these Adivasi youths. The objective is to bridge the gap between Naxal-affected regions and the flourishing developments in the state, fostering a sense of integration and encouraging the Adivasi population to embrace the opportunities provided by mainstream society.

The recent tour has shed light on the challenges faced by Adivasis in Naxal-affected areas, prompting Vijay Sharma to take proactive measures. This outreach program not only seeks to showcase the positive developments in the state but also to address the underlying issues faced by the Adivasi community, offering them a glimpse of a brighter and more inclusive future.
