Durg: The mystery surrounding the sensational murder of Hathkhoj area councillor Suraj Banchhor a week ago has been solved. On a two-year-old rivalry, the main accused along with his 3 accomplices carried out the murder. The police have also seized the weapon provider along with the 4 accused involved in the incident.

As per the details traced, a dispute between the deceased councilor and Dinesh Pal alias Dinu surfaced that is being suspected as the cause of murder.
Following which a team led by Soni Rajesh Pandey embarked to Janjgir-Champa after recieving the location of the suspect. 3 suspects were arrested by the joint team after contacting the local Sakti police station in-charge of Rupak Sharma, while another suspect was arrested from the Hathkhoj area
During interrogation, it was found that the deceased Suraj had a dispute with Dinu Pal for many reasons. The deceased used to support 2 people for beating Dinu. Apart from this, Dinu Pal was arrested a few months ago for possessing an illegal pistol, which belonged to the deceased, but after being arrested in the case, he did not help the accused. Since then the suspect Dinu Pal wanted to avenge Suraj Banchhore. To carry out the murder Mohan, a resident of Khursipar had provided two pistols. On November 15th, Dinu killed Suraj Banchhore along with his comrades with a sharp weapon after finding him alone near the pond. Apart from Dinu, Uttam Sona, Deepak, Lokesh Sahu and Mohan were arrested in the case. 2 country-made pistols and 4 live cartridges, a sharp-edged dagger and katta used in the murder and 2 motorcycles used in the crime have been seized from the accused.
