Mungeli: Rahul Dev, who is a collector of Mungeli, has today put MPC Deepak Kumar Devangan of Mungeli under suspension order. The fact that Engineer Devangan has no enthusiasm for undertaking his responsibilities has been affecting development projects through undesirable postponements. Due to this very slow development, many members of the public are dissatisfied with the development.
Also, there have been several reports concerning his repeated omission from the headquarters for days without the appropriate permission from relevant authorities. The Collector took immediate cognizance of these matters and demanded that the concerned officials conduct an inquiry and report the case on the same day. On the merit of the complaints brought against him, his offenses were found to be genuine and thereby placed under suspension under rule 9 of Civil Services (Classification, control & appeal) rule 1966.
In the course of the suspension, Deputy Engineer Devangan has been posted to the headquarters of Municipal Council LowerMI. In this period, he will only be in a position to receive subsistence allowance. The suspension demonstrates the administration’s desire to promote the accountability, effectiveness and proper performance of the operation of municipal responsibilities. The Collector makes a quick decision to counter the administration’s approach towards hiring competent execution of development projects and the significance of discipline among the municipalities’ employees’ concerns.
This is to be expected to ensure that some of the pending developmental works are initiated and implemented while also deeming the public’s confidence in the municipal administration. The Collector has stressed very much that any lapse or delinquency in public services will not be condoned at all, and rigorous action will be taken against the errant. This itself sends a signal to other officials to obey the rules and regulations and work hard and effectively as expected of them.
