Jagdalpur. More than 140 Naxalites from Chhattisgarh will surrender before Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. On Friday, October 17th, in Jagdalpur, Naxalites led by Naxalite leader Rupesh will surrender with more than 100 weapons and return to the mainstream. The administration has made full preparations for this. Meanwhile, a video of Naxalites from the Maad area has emerged showing them crossing the Indravati River and reaching Bijapur.
In the video, a group of Naxalites is seen with weapons slung over their shoulders. After crossing the Indravati River, they are reaching Bhairamgarh under tight security. It is being reported that 30 of the approximately 140 Maoists, led by North-West Sub-Zonal Officer Rupesh, have marched towards Bhairamgarh to surrender. Meanwhile, a list of 50 Maoists who surrendered at the Kamteda BSF camp in Kanker has also been released. The 50 Maoists surrendered here on Wednesday under the leadership of Special Zonal Committee member Bhaskar Mandavi.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said on the Naxalites surrender, “A large number of Naxalites are ready to surrender. We will welcome them with a red carpet. The official surrender will be announced in Jagdalpur. Rupesh and his associates will surrender before Chief Minister Vishnudev Sao tomorrow. The police department is busy preparing for this.”
