Monsoon has become fully active in Chhattisgarh. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Narayanpur, Bijapur, Bastar, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Kanker, Sukma, Balrampur, Janjgir, Jashpur, Korea, Surguja, Surajpur, Korba, Mungeli, Kawardha, Bilalpur, Pendra, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Dhamtari, Raipur, Durg, Mahasamund and Balodabazar districts on Wednesday. Yellow alert has been issued for these districts. There is also a possibility of lightning at some places.
With the onset of monsoon, a flock of sheep has arrived in the Pendra area of Chhattisgarh . People from Gujarat and Rajasthan come to the forests of Chhattisgarh to graze their sheep.
On Tuesday, the highest rainfall of 50 mm was recorded in Sakti district. Whereas 20 mm rainfall was recorded in Basna, 30 mm in Saraipali and 40 mm in Bhairamgarh.
Monsoon activity in Chhattisgarh may increase from June 26. In the last 2 days, the rain in the state has stopped. Due to this, the scorching sun and humidity in the capital Raipur troubled the people. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in many areas with the increase in rain activity in the state on Wednesday.
