Raipur. On the instructions of the Central Government to deal with emergency situations during Indo-Pak war, a mock drill will be conducted in Durg district of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has given instructions to follow the guidelines and implement them effectively. Emergency training, blackout practice and security services will be tested in the mock drill. Participation of district administration, civil defense department, home guard, NCC, NSS, school-college students and voluntary organizations has been ensured in this.
The Union Home Minister has issued directive to this effect in a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of the state. Speaking to the Media on the matter, Home Minister Vijay Sharma stated,’ Several instructions have been recieved from the Union Home Minister, Mock drill is among them. Such exercises are necessary and should be conducted on a regular basis. one can never predict an emergency period. All the departments are fully prepared and have been instructed to be ready for any situation.’
Commerce and Industry and Labor Minister Lakhanlal Devangan will be on a one-day visit to Kabirdham district today. Minister Lakhanlal Devangan will leave Raipur for Village Dhamaki District Kabirdham at 10 am. Minister Devangan will attend the Samadhan Camp under Sushasan Tihar 2025 organized in Village Dhamaki at 12.30 pm. After this, he will leave from Village Dhamaki for Circuit House Kawardh at 2 pm and from there he will leave for Raipur at 3 pm.

Congress’s Save Constitution rally from tomorrow
Congress will organize a state level “Samvidhan Bachao Rally” in Bilaspur on May 8, in which many big leaders including General Secretary in charge Sachin Pilot will participate. Under the AICC instructions, this campaign will run for 40 days in the state, which is starting a little late due to the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Congress will attack the Modi government on issues like anti-constitution decisions, benefiting capitalists and ignoring social justice.

Placement camp for handicapped in Raipur
A placement camp will be organized on 9 May in Raipur for 12th pass physically challenged persons. The camp has been organized from 11 am to 3 pm in the special employment office located in the old police headquarters. For recruitment on 25 posts under the NAPS scheme, physically challenged persons of the state who are 12th pass and are between 18 and 25 years of age can participate.
Bhilai and Bilaspur will clash in the final of T-20 cricket tournament
Teams of Bhilai and Bilaspur have reached the final of Senior Elite Group T-20 Cricket organized by Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association. They will compete on 7th May at Raipur District Cricket Association ground. On 6th May, Bilaspur defeated BSP in the first semi-final and in the second match, Bhilai defeated Plate Combined due to Anand Rao’s all-round performance and made it to the final. In the first semi-final played at Raipur Cricket Association ground, BSP batted first and scored 139 runs for 10 wickets in 19.5 overs, in which Sangeet Soni contributed 41 runs and Vaibhav Sahu contributed 21 runs. While bowling, Praveen Kumar took 4 wickets for Bilaspur. Chasing the target of 140 runs for victory, Bilaspur’s team scored 143 runs for 4 wickets in 19.2 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. In this, Pawan Parnate played an unbeaten innings of 41 runs. The second semi-final was played at Sector-10 ground, Bhilai. Batting first, Plate Combined scored 174 runs for 10 wickets in 20 overs, in which Krish Chopra scored the highest score of 62 runs. Bowling for Bhilai, Diwakar Tamrakar took 4 wickets and Anand Rao took 3 wickets.
