Jashpur, Chhattisgarh: Police on Tuesday arrested seven accused while one is still absconding, involved in the murder of a couple-parent to a 17-year-old kid. As per reports, the boy on the behest of a ‘Tantrik’sacrificed his parents in order to heal his older brother’s mental illness.

The incident is reported from the Jashpur district of CG, where a 17-year-old boy on the behest of a Tantric named Mohan Yadav of Satguru Ashram decided to kill his parents believing the Tantric’s ideology that their parents had performed witchcraft on his younger brother and that he would recover only if his parents died. 

Following this the minor along with his relatives hatched the plan to kill his parents. The accused include brother-in-law Narsingh Yadav and cousins Raju Ram Yadav, Bhole Shankar Yadav, Shankar Yadav, Khageshwar Yadav, Ishwari Yadav and Dashrath Yadav, police said. 

 As per the plan, Raigarh superintendent of police Abhishek Meena said the accused called the parents into the vehicle on the pretext of their son not being well and took them to Surajgarh Mahanadi bridge in a rented vehicle where they were strangled to death. Subsequently, they had planned to throw the dead bodies into the Mahanadi river.

 Interacting with the reporters, the SP said- “On August 1, we registered a case under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and started the investigation. The bodies were identified as Sukru Yadav (40) and Manmati Yadav (45) of Maheshpur’s Bagbahar.

The case was solved after the police raised suspicion of the family’s role in the incident, and subsequently, the minor narrated the story taking responsibility for the deaths.
