Bilaspur: A 17-year-old girl was repeatedly raped in three years by two known accused. The incident has come to the fore after the girl was enrolled in Balika Grih after her mother passed away.
The victim is identified as a native of West Bengal residing in the Sirgitti area. Reportedly, the minor opened up about experiences of her past while she was being counselled. As per the information given by her, in 2014 Raja Durga, a 50-year-old resident of Torva area raped the girl in the absence of her mother. After being threatened for life, the girl abstained from sharing the incident. Later in 2017, another accused identified as Sitaram Panda, a resident of Yadunandan Nagar raped her.
The Women and Child Development Department have lodged complaints separately against both individuals as the police probes the case.
Further details are being sought from the girl through a special counsellor arranged after authorities faced issues extracting information from the girl.
