RAIPUR: A 3-year-old girl was raped by her neighbor in CG capital Raipur, said police officials adding that the accused has been arrested and a case under IPC Section 376 and POSCO Act has been filed.
The incident took place in the Rakhi PS area of Nava Raipur on May 12 when the girl was playing outside her house while her mother was cooking. The accused is said to have lured the girl for chocolates and taken her to an isolated place nearby where he raped her brutally and left her bleeding near her house.
The mother learned about the incident when she heard the plight of her grief-stricken daughter. She immediately rushed to the police station to file a case against the accused whom the victim identified as their neighbour-Karan Yadav- the police said.
The girl was sent for medical treatment, and subsequently accused was arrested the police mentioned.
The girl belonged to a laborer’s family and her father was not at home when the incident occurred- the police said revealing details of the crime.
