Raipur: A meeting of the Ministry of Agriculture was also organized under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey from 2 pm today. In the meeting, strategies to reduce the cultivation area of paddy in the Rabi year 2021-22 season and addition of other profitable crops in the region was discussed.
Moreover, Chhattisgarh party in charge PL Punia is scheduled to arrive in Raipur today through a domestic flight at 4:25pm. Secretary Saptagiri Shankar Ulka is scheduled to land in the fort at 8:45 am on Wednesday.
As per their travel itinerary, at around 10:30am the leaders would leave for Bhilai circuit house to attend the Diamond Festival at Mahatma Gandhi Auditorium (Kala Mandir) in Civic Center.
Both the leaders at around 3:00pm are scheduled to attend a meeting in Rajeev Bhawan, Indian National Congress District Headquarters Raipur. The duo would leave for Delhi on Thursday at 11:30 am by a regular domestic flight.
In another event the General Administration Department on Monday has issued an order declaring govt holiday on the occasion of Chher chera.
Chhattisgarh is known as the rice bowl of the country. The state celebrates Chher chera, each year on the full moon day of the Pausha month of Hindu calendar, grains are donated in the belief that sharing part of the produce would ensure that no one ever went hungry. The festival is dedicated to reaping the paddy harvest that is later shared by the people. Grains and fruits are also offered to ancestors as a mark of gratitude for watching over them for a good harvest. The Bastar region of the state comes alive with singing and dancing that is part and parcel of the celebrations.
