Raipur: The positive effects of the White Revolution has been witnessed in the state of Chhattisgarh as milk production and its business has increased in villages as well as semi-urban and urban areas. In the tenure of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, milk production has registered an increase of up to 50 percent in the state.

The annual milk production for the financial year 2014-15 was 1231 metric tonnes. Milk production in the state has reached 1848 metric tonnes annually for the financial year 2021-22. This means presently milk is availability has increased from 105 grams per person to 159 grams per person in the state. With these figures, Chhattisgarh remains ahead of Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Goa, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Chandigarh, Ladakh, and Pondicherry.

The importance of livestock is visible in Gothans, through which once again people stated rearing animals in rural and urban areas. Moreover, women and self-helped groups have worked ahead in milk production.

Chandan Tripathi, Chhattisgarh Animal Husbandry Department Director said that milk production is continuously increasing in the state as every year six lakh animals are being impregnanted through medical methods. Narva, Garva, Ghurva, Bari, and Gothans have played a crucial role to bring positive impacts of the schemes from state government.
