Jahgir-Champa, Chattisgarh: Armed with umteen ampules, Jangir-Champa district authorities have called for a mega vaccination drive today.

This mega vaccination drive aims to shield one lakh individuals of the district on Monday, officials reported.Issuing the order to conduct the mega vaccine drive, the collector appealed to the people to vaccinate themselves.

Nearly, 168 centres including district hospitals, community centres, primary centres and dispensaries have been dedicated for the camp.Collector Jitendra Kumar Shukla has appealed to all residents above 45 years to get their first dose administerd. The vaccination centres would begin vaccinating at 9am in the morning targetting 300 administrations per centre through out the day.

The state administration had conducted its last mega vaccination camp on May 2 inoculating individuals from all castes primarily the economically and socially backward groups.

So far, the state health deaprtment has reported 2.11 crore immunizations. Out of these 1.44 cr have received the first dose while 67,16,089 have been administered both the shots. As per the Union Health Ministry, more than 106.79 crore (1,06,79,93,365) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt of India and through direct state procurement category so far.

More than 12 Cr (12,02,30,859) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
