Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh: A major fire has broken out in the minor forest produce godown located at Bakhrupara Wooden Depot in the Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. It is being told that in this arson, about 4000 sacks of tendu patta (beedi leaves) kept in a minor forest produce godown were burnt to ashes. 

The Forest department, police force, and fire brigade personnel have reached the spot. The fire brigade personnel have brought the massive fire under control after a lot of effort. In this arson, the tendu leaves were completely burnt to ashes. A loss of crores is being estimated in this incident.

This is not the first time that the state is reporting such forest fires. According to reports by Chattisgarh’s forest department, as many as 8000+ forest fires have been reported in the state at the beginning of this year. While most forest fires have occurred in Maoist infested areas, some have been part of accidents too. 

The losses of crores in such fires have caused havoc to the forest department of the state. Not only that, but it has also affected the biodiversity and climate of the surrounding areas. More details of this fire incident is still awaited…
