Bilaspur: A massive fire erupted at the crowded Shanishchari Market very early Tuesday morning at 3 AM, which caused chaos and destroyed many items. The area, near the City Kotwali police station, is home to the market, famous for its tight lanes and many stores. Almost two dozen shops selling items like oil, cosmetics, and food were overcome by fire and reduced to ashes, and it was only after firefighters took over that the blaze was stopped.

As soon as authorities were informed about the fire, teams of firefighters went to the scene and acted to control the blaze. But due to the tight spaces in the market, fire tenders faced large difficulties trying to reach the center quickly. It took firefighters many hours of hard work before they could finally get the fire under control.

The first account shows that some kind of short circuit occurred, although it’s not yet certain what set off the fire. The scene was examined by forensic teams to find out where the fire started. No one has been hurt so far, but traders are likely to experience great financial losses.

A lot of shopkeepers who had their entire savings in their small businesses could only look on as their shops went up in flames. The extent of damage from the massive fire is yet to be fully known. Different business owners are calling for compensation and a thorough check to determine what happened.

The area has been cordoned off by police while they take statements from people around. At the same time, local officials have announced they will carefully investigate the situation and support traders in every way possible. Because of this, there are growing worries about how prepared crowded markets are for fire safety, and that better infrastructure and response measures are required immediately.
